The specifications of blended yarns are typically determined by a combination of fiber composition, yarn count, and structural form. Common composition specifications include cotton/polyester, viscose/polyester, and wool/acrylic; varying blend ratios directly influence the yarn's performance characteristics. For instance, cotton/polyester blends often come in ratios such as 65/35, 50/50, or 80/20, with each ratio striking a different balance between comfort and durability to meet diverse application needs.

 

Regarding yarn count, fineness is usually expressed in "English Cotton Count (Ne)" or "Tex." Fine-count yarns are generally used for lightweight fabrics, such as shirts or knitted underwear; medium-count yarns are suitable for everyday apparel fabrics; and coarse-count yarns are frequently used for home textiles or industrial fabrics. Higher counts indicate finer yarns, which demand greater stability in the spinning process and, consequently, stricter production controls.

 

Blended yarns are also classified by their structural form, such as single yarns, plied yarns, and yarns with special structures. Single yarns feature a simple structure suitable for general weaving requirements, whereas plied yarns-formed by twisting together two or more single yarns-offer superior strength and abrasion resistance. Some functional blended yarns incorporate core-spun structures or elastic fibers to enhance stretch and recovery properties. These combined specifications determine the final application scope and performance of the blended yarn.
